Project Summary

While I enjoyed my work as a freelance photographer, I missed the creation of physical elements like I had done during my studies in Industrial Design. I started getting familiar with 3D modelling software to allow myself to create physical solutions to give everyday life some colour. Additionally, I started using some solutions for product photography or to bring data visualisations to the physical world, as to allow interaction with the physicalisation of data.

To bring the final product to the right level, I dove into the details of 3D printing as well. Now, I experiment with materials, colours, settings and the ways of finishing a 3D print in terms of post-processing (sanding, melting, waxing, painting) to reach professional looking results.

3D modelling and 3D printing allow me to experiment with rapid prototyping and designing custom solutions to use within any of my work aspects. It offers a level of freedom and creativity that I highly enjoy.

This is a continous project, always aimed at learning new things and developing my skills in the area of 3D modelling and printing.
